With Grace's encouragement I went for it yesterday. I skipped ahead to lesson 13 and started putting my wings together. I had to gather the corners and lightly press them. Then I laced backstitches together. After that, I couched some purl stuff around the edge. I am so delighted with how they turned out!
They are beautiful. I thought about writing Amy Mitten a thank you letter for designing such an intricate lovely butterfly. Of course, my butterfly isn't done. I need to make her body. I'm not sure the tension on the thread holding the wings together is correct and won't know until I put all the pieces together. This is one of the niftiest things I have ever made.
I worked a bit on the half doll.
Hey, doesn't that look like the same photo as yesterday? Well, I ended up "reverse stitching" as I had an error. Luckily I only had to take out one flower and some vine. But today is "Finish Stitching the Half Doll Day!" I am going to concentrate on getting done with this - today!
