Diligence

My Diligence kit came in the mail yesterday!  Yeah!

It was fun to go through and see all the parts.  Amy Mitten kits are just the best.

You know I just had to do something on it.  I printed out the directions so I wouldn't miss a thing or get lazy and just try to remember rather than check what comes next.  I had to cut out the interfacing and iron it on the back of the printed silk.  I wish I had done a better job.  But it was hard to get all the little pieces to stay in one place until I could set them with an iron.  Hopefully it will fold like it is supposed to.

I was a good girl and mounted the silk on stretcher bars as recommended.

Then I started the backstitching around the pieces that will be used to join them together in the end.  I want to finish the backstitching today so I can do the honey comb next in an interesting black and gold thread.  This is so fun!

I've been walking this morning and also went to the Farmer's Market.  Vegetables and fruits are really getting ripe this time of year.  We look forward to July when we can get tart cherries and have the best cherry pie ever.  I got a ton of other stuff. I also ran into a friend from years ago when I played soccer.  It was so nice to see her after such a long time.  I quit playing soccer about 14 years ago.  It is so nice to have friends.

  2. You've made a great start! I just know we'll all love watching this come together. That ort holder is especially neat - my father always carried a coin purse that opened/folded up like that.
