Figuring Out

I made good progress on the trinket box sides. All done with queen stitches!

I am so sick of this design.  This is the second time I have attempted it.  So I am really ready to move on.  I got out my idea for the back of the trinket box.  It is the bottom of  Speak to the Earth, another Sandy Orton sampler.

I think I have it figured out.  I will be stitching it over two on my 40 count linen.  It is a pastoral theme with cow, deer, sheep and ducks.  There might be a gap of ten stitches on each side so I'm thinking I'll fill that in with something (maybe a bird?) after I get the panel done.

It is still rainy here.  I walked outside anyway.  The farmer's market is winding down for the year.  I was able to find the things on my list.  All except for the red delicious apples.  The people that have apples mostly bring honey crisp ones.  They are too tart for DH.  I may have to go out to an apple farm to get red delicious.  I am reminded of when I was a teacher this time of year.  Our class would always go for a visit to a fruit farm and pick apples and often we would get a donut.  DH has been spoiling me. When he goes to the store, he brings me home a caramel apple.
