The Experiment

Way back five months ago I set up an experiment.  I needed some floss.  Whatley Woodlands from Classic Colorworks.  I was using it as I was working on Anne Hathaway's Cottage needlebook.

It was a great color for the lettering.  So I ordered it from two places to see which was quicker.  I ordered it online from Stitching Bits and Bobs and I ordered it from my LNS.  I was quite surprised when I got it in about a week from Stitching Bits and Bobs.  Then I forgot about it.  Until yesterday, that is.  When my LNS called to say that my floss was in.  It took five months.  I went and picked it up this morning because I ordered it and because it is a great color to have on hand.

Unfortunately, that five months is not a record.  I've had an order in to another shop (which shall remain nameless) for over a year.

This is where I am today on Williamsburg Remembered.

I have changed the spine.  The pattern had lettering.

I put in roses and one more sweet snail.  I love that snail.
Look how much more of the "bones" for the bargello I have done:
I hate when I get my legs in the photo!
I'm getting ready for my trip so you probably won't hear from me until next week.  We are going to be stopping at quilt stores along the way to Cincinnati to pick up Row by Row patterns.  It will be fun.  Let's hope I can control myself and not buy too much fabric!
