This is as far as I got. I didn't get around to looking for rick rack.
Maybe it doesn't need rick rack at all. But I should secure it somehow in the bowl. I'm still thinking . . .

I use a lot of aquarium silicone to glue things together, like a candlestick to the bottom of a melamine plate to make a cake holder or fabric into a tin tart pan. I will be interested to see how you put yours together!
