I have printed out a bunch of motifs and am cutting them up and arranging them and seeing what I think and if I like them. (How's that for a run-on sentence!)
I have two Dover books to give me ideas. One is Treasury of Floral Designs and Initials. It has such beautiful designs but I think I need to trace them with a pen to get more of an idea on size.
I put one design through my PCStitch software just to see what would happen. Unfortunately, I don't know how to work this software. But I did get a cross stitch design from a line drawing. I need to adjust the numbers to make it fit the size of the flat casket top which (if I read the dimensions correctly) is approximately 8 1/2 by 11 inches.
I also printed out some old booklets designs from Sajou.
I will have to play around with these pieces for a while.
I am getting close to finishing the Second Bookmark. I think I can get it all done today.
I finished up the top of the pin cushion for the Stitching Chair Necessaire. Now I can start the backing border which I may use an overdyed thread on.
I got one more motif done on Mute But Not Silent. I am close to the windmill that I am anxious to start.
So many irons in the fire!

I am interested in the methods you are using to select your designs. You are teaching me lots about the process and all the while enjoying yourself! Have a great evening
