Maybe Today

Maybe today I can finish The Owl and the Pussycat.   When I last showed my progress, I was working on the tree tops.  They are challenging!  I was not at all happy with this one:

It doesn't look even and some of the pieces are not laying like I want.  But Paola said it was fine so I didn't take it out.  I didn't really want to start over anyway.  I looked at it everyday trying to decide.  In the end, I left it.  Then I worked on the label.

 I added the mossy bits.  I need to do a couple more stitches on the right side.

 I worked the gold over the letters.  I thought it would be really hard to do but it wasn't.  You just do one side of the letter instead of having to cover the whole letter.

I sewed down the boat and the water around the bottom.

 I'm working on the last tree top.  These loops are going better that the other tree top.
I have the mast of the boat to do yet.  I need to add the guitar to the boat too.

I will be really thrilled when it is finished.

Torrie said the Wren kit will be sent early next year.  Can't wait!

Maybe today I will put up my tree drink some egg nog and address some Christmas cards.  I made some shortbread yesterday and it was good.
