I decided to try to put the Mermaid's Treasures Shell together. That one side was so hard to stitch. So I followed the directions and step by step I put it together. It all worked out. I am so proud of it. There are magnets in the top of the shell that hold it together. So here is my finished shell:
I made one small change in how it is to be finished. I added a layer of Warm'n Natural to the outside of the shell form so that the outside would be smooth and snug around the form. I don't know if it made a difference but I am very happy with the outcome.
I like how the pockets were stitched on. Pearl cotton backstitching was joined with buttonhole stitch.
This is a divided pocket with fish thread winders. I like the beads on the top.
Just the mirror and the snail tape measure to go on this project. I am working on the mirror. The snail is listed as the next lesson we will get. Maybe I can catch up after all.
