Ideas

First of all, several people have asked me where I get my frames.  I get them from American Frame in Ohio. I think the price is good and they deliver quickly.

I have ideas for what to stitch for the back or top of a casket.  I have this pattern.

This panel with the man and lady will fit nicely on the top or back or front if I complete the flower by the man on the left. I want to center the people so they are in the middle.

I ordered the recommended silks and they came this week. I would like to start this but I must finish the three queens. By the way, I hate queen stitches. I hope to finish more today.  I'll show you tomorrow.

Goodies

I made some goodies yesterday and I got some goodies in the mail. First is shortbread. I messed it up by using the wrong recipe. DH tasted it and declared it needed more butter. I made some more this morning using less flour so it will be less crumbly.

Then I tried a new recipe using almond flour and with orange marmalade in the middle.  They are very light.
Then I made the white chocolate chips and oreo stuff.

In the mail was a sweet package from Jenny Adin Christie. I got some nifty threads. One of the threads was used in the peacock feathers and is sparkly.  I love the wren thread winder by Rachael Kinnison.

All Done

Here is the poem/butterfly all done:

I have to figure out where to hang it.

Since it is now the holiday season I should change out some of my other stitchings.

I hope to make some goodies today.

I finished the third section of the pear,  This is my method: make a copy of the section shape, cut it out, sew on the seam line right through the paper making sure it is on the straight grain of the fabric.  Then carefully tear away the paper leaving the line of stitching as a guide to where to stitch the blackwork.

Now do I use a new color or one of the ones I've already used?

Frame

I frame I ordered last night.  It came quickly and I like it.

I have to give the lien a good ironing. I always use Thermolam on the mounting board and lace the linen over it.  I want the linen to be perfectly flat and smooth.
I've been wrapping presents for the grandkids' box this morning. I have ornaments that I didn't get a chance to send last year.  I also got some mini books that can be ornaments or whatever.

I just need to make some treats to send along, shortbread and white chocolate chips melted with broken Oreos, pretzels and peanuts in them.

Almost ready!

Huswif

I made some good progress on the huswif. This is the second section which will be the back.

I like this project.  I had to frog a sawtooth satin satin stitch when I realized that I stitched it in the wrong color. But no big deal.
I really want to get the three queens band done so I can put it on the side of my double casket. But those queen stitches are driving me nuts. If I finish one side of the queen stitched flower each day I can be done this week.
I have been spending like a drunken sailor. I've ordered stuff for Santa to give me. I've ordered the grandchildren stuff. Next week I'll order the gift cards for everybody else.

Working on the Pear

I've made good progress on the pear.  Here is the third section.

I decided to use an obnoxious yellow green color as the x in the middle.  Boy does that change the look. The color is perfect for a pear and not too wild. It looks totally different from the original.
I think I can finish this section today.
I'm a little late posting because I was making cookies. A year ago today I almost died from sepsis. I'm very grateful to be here and picking out things to get my grandchildren for Christmas. (I still don't understand Pokemon?)

The frame I ordered should come today.

Other Side

Wow, two sides are now on a casket! that is an accomplishment. Especially for me.

Here is the second side:

This is the inside of the casket.  It has a fancy music box and mirrors on the side with a photo of a watercolor on the bottom.

This is the first side:
This is the glue I used (recommended by Rachael Kinnison).
I've had an inspiration for one of the other sides. I'll show you on another day.
Happy Friday!
