The Best

I decided to go to the farther away Farmer's Market yesterday.  It is bigger than the little Sunday one.  But I wanted to see what the offerings were.  I got most of the things on my list.  I found some first of the year strawberries.  Then low and behold I spotted them.  Cinnamon rolls.  Not just any cinnamon rolls but the best ones.  Of course nothing will ever match high school rolls.  Back in high school, especially if you didn't have 35 cents for a lunch ticket, you could get a cinnamon roll for a nickel.  (Yes it was back in the middle ages!)  These were the best cinnamon rolls ever.  They were big knots and just perfect in every way.  The next best rolls are from a restaurant here in town.  They are very big and made fresh every day.  But the restaurant is way on the other side of town and I never go over there.  So to see the best cinnamon rolls at the Farmer's Market was a very welcome surprise.  So I got one.  The photo looks like two rolls but it is one roll cut in half.   Heaven.  I ate part of it driving home from the market.  This is what was left when I got home:

I licked the plate clean.  I will certainly go back to that market!

I finished up the leaf row on Mistress L.

I did the next row too.  The flowers were supposed to be green.  Green?!  No way, Jose.  I made them Raspberry Parfait.
Then there is another row of flowers but they are Sugarplum which suits me fine.
It is nice to see this sampler grow.  It is very long something like 32 or 36 inches.  It will take a while to finish that's for sure.
Have a happy Sunday!

  1. Mmmmm, the cinnamon roll looks delicious!
You are coming along nicely on the Sampler.
I agree, you just put in a row of green, so the red looks nicer.

  2. Your sampler is looking good. I would have changed the flowers from green to something else as well. Boy, does that cinnamon roll look very tasty. We picked up a plate of cinnamon rolls from our farmer's market yesterday as well.

  4. Those cinnamon rolls look very drool-worthy! Glad to hear they were as good as they looked.

You're making such progress on the Mistress L sampler! I think the flowers in the band you're stitching now look like forget-me-nots - haven't seen those in ages.
