Last Saturday I went to a class taught by Lauren Sauer, A Book of Beries. It is so fun to take a class with my friends. I knew a lot of the people in class. As always, there is that sweet moment when you get that whole new complete kit placed in front of you.
I wasn't sure what this design was. But I was delighted to find that I love the sixteen pages of the book. Many of the motif could be used on one of my caskets. I love strawberries anyway and this book is comprised of many strawberry motifs found on samplers. This will be fun to stitch. First we made a little book of stitches that will be stored in the pocket in the back of the book.
Then we started stitching the pocket.
I tried using interfacing on the back of the linen but it was so hard to push the needle through. My hands were sore. So forget that, I cut off as much as I could. Whew, much better.
A group of five of us went out to eat after class and it was fun to gab and munch. I was pooped, stitching all day is tiring!

How thrilling to take a class with Lauren. Please could you let me know if there is an up to date email address for her on your chart, as I would like to contact her about an old class piece - Victorian Melon Bag. Thanks in anticipation.
