Back Home

I am back home all safe and sound.  We had a great time on our trip.  It is such fun being with like-minded friends.  We took off on Thursday morning for the South Bend airport to pick up BFF.  It worked out perfectly.  Then we had a couple of stops in South Bend.  We like to go to Erica's.  It has fabric and some cross stitch supplies as well as sewing machines.  We checked out a serger there as BFF#2 is looking for an inexpensive one for edging linen.  I was interested in seeing what the new machines can do as my serger is very old, like twenty years old.  I asked to clerk to change the machine from a rolled edge to a serged edge just to see how hard it is. Not too bad.  The new machines are easier to thread.  But we didn't buy anything.
Then on to a guilty pleasure - Steak and Shake.  What to do when you want a hot dog and a hamburger?  Well, yes. you have to get one of each.  I was very happy that I could get a little slider hamburger to go with the hot dog.  Then we were off to Indianapolis.  It is an easy drive but takes a couple of hours.  We had hoped to get a bit more shopping in but the places were closed by the time we got there.  The GPS took us down what seemed to be goat paths to get to BFF;s hotel.  I think we were avoiding rush hour traffic.  By then it was time to eat dinner.  We went to downtown Zionsville.  It is quaint and interesting.  It had lots of little stores, too bad they were closed.

 We ate at a nice place.  It was BFF#2's birthday so it was a good place to celebrate.
What would you want if you didn't want birthday cake?  I asked BFF#2 that and she said brownies with coffee ice cream.  Since the restaurant had coffee gelato, we had to have some.  It was delicious!

We dropped off BFF at her hotel and checked into ours.  We were pooped.  Tomorrow morning we have a cartonnage class.  I can't wait!
